In 1968, The Beachcombers signed a record contract with CBS and changed their name to The Boots. On June 14, 1968 the band released its first single, The Animal in Me. It was followed-up with Keep Your Lovelight Burning. Unfortunately, a burning lovelight couldn't pay the electric bill. As work started to dry up, the band returned to Edinburgh and disbanded shortly after.
